Romanian Procurement Regulator Admits Only 49 Of 1552 Checked Auction Files

Checkups started recently by the Romanian Authority for Public Procurement Regulation and Monitoring (ANRMAP) show that only 49 of the 1,552 auction files which have been submitted over the past two weeks met requirements, ANRMAP president Cristina Traila said Thursday.

Speaking at the conference Mediafax Talks about European Funds, Traila said the authority admitted only 49 of the 1,552 auction files it checked.

Traila said she hopes ANRMAP will complete in November the procedures it started a year ago to standardize public procurement paperwork.

The Romanian Government recently allowed ANRMAP to check the paperwork based on which public procurement procedures are carried out. Previously, ANRMAP only made sure that those documents existed and that public procurement steps were followed.
