“This is an investigation of the National Anticorruption Department, or DNA, related to money allegedly offered to players or club owners in view of fixing matches. As I understood, the investigation also targets financial motivation of rival teams, not only fixed matches,” Rosianu said.
He said prosecutors summoned him for hearings on Tuesday to inform him his phone was tapped.
“There are no charges against me, I was only informed that my phone was tapped. They (prosecutors - e.n.) did not charge me with anything because they probably do not have a case against me. I have no connection whatsoever with this kind of things,” Rosianu told reporters.
Alin Simota, owner of Jiul Petrosani club, said in his turn Tuesday that prosecutors tapped the phones of all club owners in League I between March 2006 and May 2006. He said he found it very disturbing.
