Romanian public servants in sectors seen “vulnerable to corruption” will have their job attributions replaced periodically or will be temporarily transferred to other departments, under a recent government decision seeking to protect public servants against corruption.

The decision will not apply to high-ranking officials (prefects, deputy prefects and government inspectors), the government said.
Under the decision, certain public servants working with institutions that employ over 20% minority representatives will be compelled to learn the language of the minority in question.
