The amount requested by the public television accounts for 28% of its financing sources, and the remaining 72% is covered from its own sources (TV fee, advertising etc.)
According to its 2010 draft budget, in order to "no longer be an underfinanced institution of national interest," the public television proposes regulating fees for public radio and television services as mandatory, irrespective of the contributor's possession of a radio or TV receptor, increasing TV fees, reducing the 15% contribution paid by SRTv to the National Cinematography Center (15% of its advertising income) and analyzing the possibility of deducting VAT in the case of movie licensing and sporting events.
The public television's portfolio includes television channels TVR 1, TVR 2, TVR 3, TVR Cultural, TVR International, TVR Info and TVR HD (experimental), plus five regional TV stations countrywide - TVR Cluj, TVR Iasi, TVR Timisoara, TVR Craiova, TVR Targu-Mures, and the www.tvr.ro web portal.
The funds requested by SRR account for 47.33% of its budget and the remaining 52.67% is covered from its own revenues, namely, radio fees, advertising etc.
SRR currently operates radio stations Radio Romania Actualitati, Radio Romania International, Radio Romania Cultural, Radio Romania Muzical, Antena Satelor, Radio3Net, Radio Bucuresti and more than 10 regional stations, plus the online children's station Kids Radio and Rador press agency.
