Electrica Muntenia Sud said it would not take any measures affecting the population as long as the provisions stipulated by the contract are observed.
RADET manager Virgil Ramba said Monday that the distribution of hot water in Bucharest would not be halted, and that pressure would be put on the people who did not pay their household bills, amounting to a total of RON60 million.
Bucharest’s general mayor Sorin Oprescu received Monday a report from RADET showing that the distributor’s historical debt dates from 1995 and amounts to RON750 million, of which RON200 million is owed to the state budget for fuel compensations.
As for the RON570 million, the Bucharest mayoralty and the Government will look for ways to raise the money to pay the debts to Bucharest’s electric power producer Electrocentrale (ELCEN).
Oprescu said Monday that an increase in the prices of thermal power might be possible, unless another solution is proposed to cover the debt.
