Geoana said during a meeting with Filat held in Bucharest, Romania's foreign policy priority is to uphold Moldova's accession to the European Union.
Geoana proposed Filat the two countries should establish a system of common government meetings, similar to those Romania already has with Hungary, Italy or France, adding a first common meeting might take place in Iasi after presidential elections.
Filat assured Geoana the Moldovan Government has clearly outlined priorities, adding Moldova Republic is confident Romania will provide international support.
Geoana said he will try to help the Moldovan authorities to obtain finances from international institutions, eliminate visas and obtain derogation from the European Union regarding the EUR500 guarantee imposed on the Moldovan citizens who want to enter Romania.
