„I will ask the Parliament to make January a month of ad-hoc meetings, so we can give the Government its needed budget, the governing agenda it considers important and the expression of a solid majority,” Geoana said.

Geoana said he is confident the new majority in Parliament will use the draft budget drawn by the ousted Government to outline a governing agenda, adding the country’s new Cabinet will come up with its own governing program and with a budget revision.

Geoana assured the representatives of the business environment Romania will not face another political debacle during his term, if elected president.

„I assure you that after December 6 we will have a majority and a legitimate Government until Christmas,” Geoana said.

Romania’s Senate adopted Wednesday with 93 votes in favor the draft amendments to the Law on the organization of the Government, empowering the Executive to send to the Parliament the 2010 state budget, social security budget and fiscal liability laws.

Geoana Thursday urged President Traian Basescu to promulgate the law adopted by the Senate, which empowers the Executive to send to the Parliament the 2010 state budget.
