Romanian Senate Introduces Special Income Tax Deductions For People With Low Income

Romanian senators Wednesday adopted a draft law amending the Fiscal Code, whereby people whose monthly gross income does not exceed 1,000 lei (EUR1=RON4.2394) will enjoy overall income tax deductions, depending on the number of people in their care.

The amendment to the Fiscal Code was adopted with 44 to 33 votes.

People with no one in care will have a RON250 tax deduction, people attending to one person will enjoy a RON375 tax deduction and those with two people in care will have a RON500 tax deduction.

A RON625 and a RON750 tax deduction will be granted to Romanians with three people in care and four or more than four people in care, respectively.
