He said managers of state companies are paid from the income and expenses budgets.

“In Romania, when we talk of market economy, we must leave populism and communism aside. We should not have a huge discrepancy between the managers of state-owned companies and those of private companies, as then we can only expect minimum performance, and the migration of all valuable people to the private sector,” Tariceanu said.

Tariceanu said the payment system in the regulatory authorities subordinated to the Government is different from the one applied in state companies.

Tariceanu on Saturday demanded the head of Chancellery, Dorin Matei, to present a report on the salaries and bonuses earned by managers of the country’s regulatory authorities.
