Hungarian Leader Marko Bela Voted “For Better Understanding Between Romanians, Hungarians”

The head of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), Marko Bela, said Sunday after he cast his vote that he voted for “a better understanding between Romanians and Hungarians".

Marko voted Sunday morning in Sancraiu de Mures, in the central Romanian county of Mures.
 
"I voted for the solidarity of Hungarians in Romania, for the solidarity of all people in Transylvania, so we can collaborate better for the interest of this region. (…) I voted for a better future for my children, for all children in the country, and I voted for a better understanding between Romanians and Hungarians,” Marko said.
 
Marko is also running for a senator seat in Mures county.
 
Nearly half a million voters are expected at the polls in the county to elect four senators and eight deputies out of 92 candidates.
