Romanian Chamber Legal Committee Rejects Criminal, Civil Code Amendments
"If we could have a broader political agreement on the rejection of these legislative initiatives pending the enactment of the new codes, this would benefit legislative stability in Romania," Tudor Chiuariu said.
He explained he does not believe the Parliament should amend the criminal and civil codes by items, by articles and thus generate legislative incoherence.
Chiuariu’s proposition was approved by consensus, and was also accepted by the president of the legal committee, Daniel Buda (PDL), who said "nobody wants this legislative instability."
