Romanian Soldier Injured In IED Blast In Afghanistan
A Romanian soldier serving in Afghanistan has been injured Thursday afternoon in the explosion of an improvised explosive device, the Romanian Defense Ministry said.

Sergeant Nicusor Bica, of the 26th Infantry Battalion, was injured slightly around the eyes in the blast of an improvised explosive device. He is in stable condition and his injuries are not life threatening, the ministry said.
Bica, who was injured while on a mission to secure an access road, was taken to the military hospital in Kandahar for treatment.
Romania has about 1,700 troops deployed in Afghanistan under the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
