Romanian Soldier Wounded In Afghanistan Suffered Operation, Is Now Stable

Romanian volunteer soldier Nicolae Paraschiva, wounded Saturday in Afghanistan, was operated on and is now stable, spokesperson of the Defense Ministry Andreea Dumitru told MEDIAFAX Sunday.

Today will be decided if the soldier will be taken to Ramstein.

He suffered injuries in the parietal area, but he responds to stimuli, Dumitru said.

The Humvee car he was in together with other three Romanian soldiers passed over an improvised explosive device, the Defense Ministry said Saturday evening.

The other three Romanians are unharmed. One of them was submitted to medical check-up, but did not need hospital supervision.
