Romanian Subway Co Metrorex To Organize Auction For Feasibility Studies To Build New Mainline

Romanian state-owned subway company Metrorex wants to organize an auction for prefeasibility and feasibility studies for works on a new subway mainline which will link southwestern Bucharest neighborhood Rahova to northeastern Colentina, the company said in a press release Wednesday.

Works on the Rahova-Colentina mainline would last about eight years, said Metrorex.

The company did not disclose either the value of the project or the date of the auction.

The future subway line will be about 21 kilometers long and will most likely have 31 stations. Metrorex estimates technical and economic indicators needed to start works will be ready in 12 months.
