Romanian Supreme Court Rules Conservative Leader Voiculescu Secret Police Collaborator

The Supreme Court upheld the February 5, 2010 ruling of the Bucharest Court of Appeals.

In August 2006, CNSAS, the body set up to analyze the Securitate's files, said Dan Voiculescu collaborated with the secret police under the name "Felix". He denied the charge and appealed the CNSAS decision.

In a blog post of March 1, 2011, Voiculescu repeated his position - that he was never a communist collaborator, and that the investigation and court rulings were politically-motivated. He declared himself prepared to take the case to the European Court of Human Rights.
