Romanian Tourism Minister Sues Liberal VP Ludovic Orban For Abuse Of Office
The Prosecutor’s Office with the Supreme Court told MEDIAFAX Tuesday that the tourism minister’s complaint against Orban was registered.
The tourism minister said on August 13 that she would sue Orban after the latter declared that the tourism minister spent money in the advertising campaign without legal basis.
Tourism minister Elena Udrea said Monday she decided to sue the participants in the discussions held in the inquiry committee, whose recording was made public by the media.
On Sunday evening, media made public a recording of the discussions between Ludovic Orban, Aura Vasile, Adriana Saftoiu and, according to a transcript that came with the recording, Lakatos Peter, who denied involvement in the discussion. According to Gandul daily, the fourth person that took part in the discussion was social democrat Dumitru Chirita.
The members of the inquiry commission resumed talks on the accusations that appeared in the press referring the tourism minister, set up the inquiry plan and the people that would be inquired. They also discussed about the ways of finding evidence to support the accusations against the minister.
The tourism minister said neither she nor any official in the ministry will participate in the inquiry sessions of the parliamentary committee investigating Udrea case.
The Democratic Liberal Party asked on Monday for the inquiry committee investigating Udrea case to be disbanded. Nevertheless, the committee continued the inquiries on Tuesday.
