Romanian Trade Union Cartel Alfa Pleads For Ceasefire In Georgia

“We urge the Georgian and Russian governments to cease fire and start negotiations to solve this conflict and the issues that led to its start,” Cartel Alfa said in a statement.

The Romanian trade union joined the International Trade Union Confederation in expressing their support for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Caucasus.

Russian forces have returned to the Georgian port of Poti and raised troop numbers in Gori despite a ceasefire, a spokeswoman for Georgia’s foreign ministry said Thursday, quoted by AFP.
