Romanian Transelectrica Employees Plan To Go On Strike Nov 2
The employees of Romania’s state-owned power grid operator Transelectrica (TEL.RO) will go on warning strike Monday and plan to go on general strike indefinitely starting November 2, after the management refused to fix demands for work conditions and salaries.

During the strike planned for November 2, the employees will ensure at least a third of the normal activity, according to a statement of "Univers" trade union federation, which represents the employees of Transelectrica and of its branches.
The unionists also support the insourcing of the maintenance units within Transelectrica to cut costs, ensure higher productivity and responsibilities in the national energy system.
On the other hand, unionists in the energy sector announced that starting October 28, they will protest each week at prefect's offices and the Economy Ministry, dissatisfied with planned reorganization and layoff measures as well as with the labor conditions. Also, they will protest weekly at the headquarters of E.ON Iasi, in eastern Romania, as of October 28.
