Romanian Transelectrica Hikes Pwr Transport Tariff By 5.4%

Romania’s state-owned power grid operator Transelectrica (TEL.RO) raised, on January 1, the average tariff for electric power transport service by 5.4%, from 16.13 lei (EUR1=RON4.2265) per MWh to RON17/MWh, the company said Monday.

According to the company, Romania’s Energy Regulatory Authority ANRE approved the tariff increase, as well as the 3% hike of the system service tariff, at RON20.68/ MWh.

On the other hand, the fee for the services provided by Romanian power exchange Opcom remained unchanged at RON0.3/ MWh.

The above tariffs do not include VAT.

Transelectrica is 73.64% owned by the Ministry of Economy, while investment fund Fondul Proprietatea owns 13.5% of the company’s shares. On the Bucharest Stock Exchange Monday, Transelectrica shares were traded at RON13.4, thus, the company’s market value stands at RON982 million.
