Romanian Transport Min Sets Annual Danube Bridge Pass Fees

The annual pass used to cross the bridge over the Danube, at Cernavoda-Fetesti, will cost 400 lei (EUR1=RON4.2782) for 50 crossings by car and RON2,720 for trucks weighing more than 12 tons and with at least 12 axels, according to an announcement made by the Romanian Ministry of Transport.

Thus, motorcycle riders will pay RON7 for one crossing, RON28 for 50-crossings yearly pass and RON490 for a 100-crossings yearly pass.

For cars, one crossing will cost RON10, one 50-crossings pass will cost RON400 and a 100-crossings pass will cost RON700, while for vans and cars weighing less then 12 tons the respective fees will be RON35 (one crossing), RON1,400 (50 crossings) and RON2,450 (100 crossings).

The fees for trucks weighing more than 12 tons and with three axels will be RON47 - one crossing, RON1,880 - 50 crossings and RON3,290 - 100 crossings, while the most expensive passes will come to trucks weighing more than 12 tons and with four axels, namely RON68 - one crossing, RON2,720 - 50 crossings and RON4,760 - 100 crossings.

The pass fees are valid for the same vehicle, over one year and cannot be paid more than 30 days in advance.

School busses and official convoy cars will be exempt from paying the bridge toll.

The fees will become valid 30 days after the publishing of the decision in the Romanian Official Journal.
