Pescarasu was also dismissed from the position of CFR Calatori Administration Board president.
According to the press release, regulations on carrying out public procurement procedures to award the contract were not observed and the contract awarding procedure has been suspended.
Boagiu called on the company's Administration Board to take a decision regarding all those involved in this case.
According to the ministry's press office, Boagiu has not yet appointed a new general manger to replace Pescarasu.
In June, CFR Calatori launched an open auction to sign a three-year frame-agreement to contract services to upgrade diesel multiple units. The frame-agreement was to include several contracts.
The minimum value of the project was estimated at 3.75 million lei (about EUR878,000) and the maximum value at RON42.37 million, VAT excluded. The project was to be financed with state budget funds.
Pescarasu was appointed CFR Calatori general manager by former Transport Minister Radu Berceanu in October 2009.
