Romanian Weather Auth Issues Code Orange Warning For Five Counties
According to the ANM website, the code orange warning is valid for the counties Caras-Severin, Mehedinti, Gorj, as well as the mountain areas of the counties Hunedoara and Valcea, where water quantities will occasionally be higher than 50 liters per square meter and, isolated, 80 liters per square meter.
The warning issued Monday is an update to the yellow code warning issued by the authority Sunday, valid between Monday, 12.00 local time, and Tuesday, 21.00 local time.
The authority warns of heavy rain, lightning, strong gusts of wind, with storm-like features, as well as occasional hail.
At the same time, the National Institute for Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) issued a warning valid between Monday, 5.00 local time, and Wednesday, 7.00 local time, and which involves 21 counties where there is a risk of floods following heavy rain.
The counties involved are Arad, Hunedoara, Timis, Caras-Severin, Gorj, Mehedinti, Valcea, Dolj, Arges, Olt, Dambovita, Teleorman, Prahova, Giurgiu, Ilfov and the mountain areas in the counties Bihor, Cluj, Alba, Sibiu, Buzau, Vrancea.
