Romanian writer Ana Blandiana will receive, Wednesday, the Legion of Honor Medal, the highest civil honor in France, according to the French Embassy to Bucharest.

The decoration ceremony will be held Wednesday, at six p.m., at the home of French Ambassador to Romania, Henri Paul.
France thus pays homage to the president of the Academia Civica Foundation, which is the founder of the International Center for Studies on Communism and the Memorial of Communism Victims and the Resistance at Sighet.
Ana Blandiana (pseudonym of Otilia Valeria Rusan) is author to 12 books of poems, two fantasy story books, one novel and seven books of essays published in Romanian since 1964, reedited multiple times in the past several years. Her books were translated in 23 languages.
