“The Romanian Government’s initiative to offer a series of facilities especially to youngsters for the acquisition of the ‘first home’ is one of the concrete steps towards an efficient social policy,” UNNPR said.

UNNPR will present to the Justice Ministry concrete proposals for a consistent cut in the sums that individuals who participate at the program are to pay to become “first owners”.

The Romanian Government announced last week a program to guarantee the loans contracted for the purchase of the first home, within the maximum limit of EUR60,000, with the entire financing granted to this program reaching EUR1 billion. The guarantees would be granted to the persons buying their first dwelling who did not previously benefit from a mortgage loan.

The guarantee will be available for people buying their first home and who have not taken any mortgage loans before.
