Romania’s Jan-Apr Trade Gap Narrows To RON11.58B
End-April, exports stood at RON44.5 billion, up 19.4% compared to January-April 2009, while imports grew by 10.9%, to RON56.11 billion.
Romania’s commercial exchanges with the European Union were at RON73.369 billion in the analyzed period, accounting for 73.7% of total exports and 72.2% of total imports.
Vehicles made up for the bulk of exports and imports in January-April, amounting to 42.6% of overall exports and 34.6% of imports, the statistic showed.
Other manufactured products amounted for 34.7% of total exports and 30.4% of imports.
In April alone, Romania’s trade deficit was of EUR3.5 billion, slightly lower from EUR3.6 billion in April last year, as both exports and imports dropped 4.3% and 4%, respectively.
