Romania Reduces Troops For ‘09 Intl Missions By 541
“The Country’s Supreme Defense Council approved the number of troops and logistics belonging to the Romanian Army that will be made available in 2009 to attend missions of collective defense, supporting peace, humanitarian assistance missions and coalition missions outside Romanian territory. Compared to 2008, Romanian Army troops that can participate in international missions in 2009 will be reduced by 542 soldiers,” the statement noted.
Last year, Romania’s Defense Council supplemented the number of troops for international missions in 2008 by 346 soldiers.
