Among other subject, the meeting might see discussions regarding a rumored decree on amnesty and pardoning supported by high-ranked party officials.
PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea said on Wednesday that the party would host a National Council meeting in December, but did not mention any further reunions of the party’s executive committee.
He also stated that he has no emergency decree regarding amnesty or pardoning in the works, nor knowledge of one being prepared by the Government.
The last two meetings of PSD’s executive committee, in November, saw measures taken against outspoken critics of Dragnea, with Marian Neacsu and Adrian Tutuianu excluded from the party, Bucharest Mayor Gabriela Firea losing all of her offices within the party and Regional Development Minister Paul Stanescu replaced from office.
