Most Of Bulgaria’s 2007 Tourists Were Romanian Neighbors

The largest number of tourists, 1.3 million people, to visit Bulgaria between January and September 2007 were Romanians. The percentage is 40% up compared to the similar period a year ago.

Statistical data from Bulgaria reported that nearly 600,000 Romanians went vacationing in Bulgaria, while the rest crossed Bulgaria on their way to Greece, another popular vacation spot for Romanians.
 
Germans tourists are second in line with 730,000 people who visited Bulgaria in the first nine months of the year, up 17% compared to the same period of 2006. Of them, 520,000 spent their holiday here while the rest only transited the country.
 
The number of British tourists who came to Bulgaria in the first nine months of the year increased 7%, to 410,000 against the same period of 2006.
