S Romania Judges Allow Bail For Football Corruption Suspect Liviu Facaleata
The Arges Court (S Romania) allowed Tuesday, the release on bail of Pic store manager Liviu Facaleata, after his family put up his 20,000 lei (EUR1 = RON4.1817) bail.

Anticorruption prosecutors immediately challenged the decision and the appeal will be tried in the Pitesti Court of Appeals.
Tuesday, judges from the Arges Court allowed Facaleata’s request for release on bail, setting the bail at RON20,000.
Also Tuesday, Arges Court magistrates tried the request for release on bail filed by the former manager of the Arges County Consumer Protection Office, Cristian Libertatu, and the sentence is to be pronounced.
At press time, Arges Court judges were trying the bail request of Central Refereeing Committee (CCA) former president Gheorghe Constantin.
In the refereeing corruption trial, on April 14 anticorruption prosecutors arrested football club FC Arges financer Cornel Penescu, suspended Central Referee Committee president Gheorghe Constantin, PIC hypermarket general manager Liviu Facaleata, as well as the former director od the Arges County Consumer Protection Office, Cristian Libertatu. Cornel Penescu and Liviu Facaleata are charged with offering bribe, while Gheorghe Constantin and Cristian Libertatu are charged with taking bribe.
On May 11, the Arges Court decided to discontinue the arrest warrants, but anticorruption prosecutors appealed, and one day later the Pitesti Court of Appeals allowed the action, thus the defendants remained under arrest for at least 30 days.
