The project’s total cost is EUR883 million, of which EUR395 million will come from the EIB loan. The draft needs to be adopted in the Senate before it will enter force.

Romania’s Government approved on March 24 the draft law ratifying a loan contract signed between Romania and the EIB for works on a new mainline of the Bucharest subway to connect the city center to the western Drumul Taberei neighborhood. The line will be 9.05 kilometers long and is due to be finished in 2015.
