“A company was selected to take care of the legal services, and the expropriation procedures and the works will begin the in the upcoming period,” people close to the matter told MEDIAFAX Tuesday.
The contract will be signed in the following days.
Dorina Tiron, general manager of the National Company for Roads and Highways (CNADNR), confirmed the information for MEDIAFAX.
The law firm declined to comment on the news.
The Cernavoda-Medgidia highway segment will cost EUR224 million and will be built by French company Colas, while Medgidia-Constanta will be built by Italian-German firm Astaldi-Max Boegl for the sum of EUR211 million. The work is due to be completed in 2011.
The contracts are financed as follows: 71% by a loan from the European Investment Bank and 29% by the Romanian Government. The contracts’ value comprises the cost of execution, VAT and expropriations, with a guarantee period of two years.
