Ungureanu said on national radio that he has sent Borbely’s resignation letter to President Traian Basescu, without suggesting a new person to lead the ministry.
Laszlo Borbely resigned Thursday after a two-hour talk with Ungureanu regarding the corruption accusations he is facing, said people close to the matter. On Wednesday, anticorruption prosecutors asked the Chamber of Deputies to lift Borbely’s parliamentary immunity, to allow his investigation on two counts of corruption.
