SC Drumuri Şi Poduri Employees Protest In C. Romania For Second Day

The employees with SC Drumuri şi Poduri Covasna, a public institution in charge with maintenance and repair of roads and bridges in Covasna County, center Romania, on Friday continued their protests against the company’s management for the second day in a row.

The employees are unhappy with the managers’ decision to postpone salary renegotiations, union leader Mathe Istvan said.

He said employees requested a 40% hike in their salaries, but the company’s management only offered them a 20% raise.

“We cannot accept it, any salary increase below 35% is unacceptable,” Istvan mentioned.

Over 100 employees with the institution started spontaneous protest actions on Thursday.

The workers demanded the company’s managers be dismissed for delaying salary negotiations.
