Romanian Automotive Registry Explains Handicap Mod Procedure For Cars

Romanian owners of vehicles modified to be used by people with handicaps need to submit with the Romanian Automotive Registry (RAR) a statement of conformity, when the changes are written in the Vehicle’s Identity Card (CIV), and not documents mentioning the degree of invalidity.

"The CIV can only contain devices that enable someone with a handicap to drive a vehicle. These devices need to be certified by the Automotive Registry or other similar international  structures, proven at least through the submission of a conformity statement," said a press release issued by the Automotive Registry Tuesday.

According to RAR spokesperson Lorena Stroe, the institution makes these statements in a bid to meet potential problems that might occur in the registration of the mentioned modifications in the CIV, as the number of modified vehicles is seeing some slight increases.
