Romania and China intend to begin, this year, on the Romanian market, a series of “major” projects, with Chinese financing, and to encourage companies in the two states to collaborate in areas such as energy, infrastructure or environmental protection.

Romanian economy minister Adriean Videnu held a meeting Monday with Chinese Commerce Minister Deputy Gao Hucheng, on the 20th session of the mixed intergovernmental Romanian-Chinese committee.

Throughout the meeting, the two officials expressed the intention to unfold „major” projects in Romania this year, with Chinese financing, according to a press release issued by the Romanian Ministry of Economy.

According to the quoted document, the commercial exchanges grew between China and Romania in recent years, and Romanian exports to China grew by 20% in 2009, compared to 2008.
