KazMunayGaz Replaces 3 Managers Of Romanian Rompetrol

Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGaz, the owner of Romania's second-largest oil group Rompetrol, replaced three managers of the oil company’s management team, namely Eric Kish, Adrian Petrus and Dan Ionescu.

Thus, Dan Ionescu was replaced by Alibek Zhilbaiev as trading division manager, Ierzhan Orinbassarov will be the new head of corporate development and industrial services unit, replacing Eric Kish, while Dmitri Grigoriev was named financial director, replacing Adrian Petrus, according to a Rompetrol release.

The new chief executive of the Romanian oil group Rompetrol is Saduokhas Meraliev, the group’s former deputy general manager, after Dinu Patriciu stepped down early July.

Romanian oil tycoon Dinu Patriciu, founder of Rompetrol group, announced early July he would step down from the position of chief executive of Rompetrol group, but will remain in the company’s board of directors.

In August 2007, Patriciu sold KazMunayGaz a 75% stake in Rompetrol Group, for $1.6 billion. In June 2009, Patriciu sold the rest of the shares to the Kazakhstan-based company, for an undisclosed amount.

The Rompetrol Group operates in 13 countries and employs over 8,000 people. Its main assets are located in Romania, France and southeastern Europe.
