Pathogen Reveals Unsuitable Treatment Conditions At CF2 Hospital – Romanian Health Ministry
The ministry said in a press release that the two patients’ conditions are the result of treatment received in the CF 2 hospital. The ministry’s committee will evaluate other patients transferred from CF 2 to other hospitals, to determine whether this was an isolated incident or an older issue.
The investigation started Friday with the dismissal of CF 2 manager Constantin Tanase and the closing of three of the hospital’s departments. On Monday, the chief doctors of internal medicine, urology, intensive care and gynecology were sacked.
Amelia Antoniu, 36, first soloist of the National „Ion Dacian” Operetta Theater, and Alice Roxana Preda, 35, were rushed from the CFR 2 Hospital to the Bucharest Emergency University Hospital on Tuesday night and were placed in intensive care in critical condition, with acute respiratory issues following septic shocks.
Antoniu’s condition has improved and she is now breathing without machine assistance, but Preda is still in toxic-septic shock.
