Several Hundred Million People To Watch Ad Promoting Romania In Roland Garros Final – Tourism Min
Several hundred million people worldwide will watch the ad promoting Romania as a tourist destination in the Roland Garros tennis tournament finals broadcast by Eurosport, according to the Romanian Tourism Ministry.

Every break will feature the ad “Roland Garros is brought to you by Romania. Romania – Land of choice.”
Tourism Ministry officials say the ad incurs no cost for the Ministry or the Romanian state and will be shown throughout the entire tournament, including the finals. “I am confident that by associating Romania’s image with the Roland Garros tournament we will raise interest in our country, as the final is watched by people all over the world,” Tourism Minister Elena Udrea told MEDIAFAX.
“Romania – Land of Choice” is the slogan of the international campaign, organized by the Tourism Ministry and three great former sportspeople – gymnast Nadia Comaneci, tennis player Ilie Nastase and footballer Gheorghe Hagi.
Udrea and the three will be in Paris on June 5, attending a series of events related to the Roland Garros tournament, set up by the Ministry in the center of the city, including showcasing the adverts promoting Romania and featuring Comaneci, Nastase and Hagi.
The campaign will last until the end of the year and the adverts will air on the largest pan-European sports channel and largest international news channel, which will be chosen according to legal national procedures.
