Boc also said Wednesday, in central Romanian city of Sibiu, that Romania will be able to achieve great things as EU member state, on the medium and long term, if it manages to uphold strategic business fields that bring added value, competitiveness, commercial orders from abroad and also create jobs.
Boc stressed Romania must not become a society eating up only goods produced in other countries, and not locally.
„I believe Romania’s fate, on the medium term, depends on its capacity to uphold these strategic business fields,” said Boc.
Boc also said, during his visit at Retrasib company in Sibiu, that Romania should focus on those business fields that can generate performance due to quality standards and premium management and stressed he was pleased to see that Retrasib is a good example in the right direction.
Retrasib manufactures the biggest electrical transformer in Romania, which will be delivered to state-owned power grid operator Transelectrica at the end of March this year.
Retrasib general manager Liviu Boruz said the technology used to produce this type of transformer will further reduce Transelectrica’s costs by EUR280,000.
Boc also referred to ratings agency Fitch, which has recently revised Romania’s outlook to stable from negative.
„After one year of economic crisis, Romania manages to improve its rating outlook, and this is solid proof the country is heading into the right direction,” Boc concluded.
