Actress, Singer Give Up Candidacy Along Greater Romania Party In General Elections
Zavoranu said Monday evening she decided not to run for a seat in Parliament for the Greater Romania Party, as she wants to focus on her artistic career.
Singer Aurelian Temisan is also giving up his candidacy for the Chamber of Deputies, said Lucian Bolcas, vice-president of PRM, on Tuesday.
According to Bolcas, Temisan told the party leaders he will not run in the general elections, as he secured a contract with a television station.
On Friday, party leader Corneliu Vadim Tudor told a press conference that Zavoranu and Temisan would be included on the lists of candidates for the Chamber of Deputies in one of Bucharest’s constituencies.
Bolcas said Tuesday neither Zavoranu nor Temisan will be included on the party’s electoral lists, to be submitted Tuesday to the Bucharest Electoral Office.
