Romania Leu’s Exch Rate Drops To New Record Low Vs Euro At 4.3688

The central bank set the leu’s indicative at 4.3688 per euro, nearly 0.4% weaker from 4.3523 Tuesday.

Against the US dollar, the leu’s reference won 0.2% on the day at 3.5617 units.

The leu opened higher on the day at 4.386/4.389 against the euro, from around 4.4 units at closing Tuesday, and further gained ground, tracking its peers in the region.

At around GMT0900, the leu traded at 4.365/4.3695 per euro, after hitting an intraday high at 4.35/4.352 per euro.

On the money market Wednesday, overnight rates were flat at 5.9%-6.4% a year.
