Council vice-president Bogdan Licu highlighted the fact that 2008 was a difficult year and Romania is awaiting a European Commission report on the justice system this year, therefore the Council decided unanimously to keep Morar in the position of chief anticorruption prosecutor.

The decision will be forwarded to President Traian Basescu, who has the final say in Morar’s appointment in the chief anticorruption prosecutor position.
