Romanian Govt To Change Car Pollution Tax; Owners Of Old Cars Might Pay More – Minister

Borbely said the ministry is discussing the pollution tax and will be able to provide additional information in October.

Romania’s Government decided in April to put together an inter-ministry workgroup to analyze possible changes to the country’s car pollution tax. The car pollution tax was implemented by the Government in April 2008, and was calculated taking into account the cars’ technical data and based upon the cars’ carbon dioxide emissions.

Romania’s Government expects to collect more than EUR400 million from the car pollution tax this year.
