"We’ve had an occupancy rate of 80% this weekend in pensions," said Maria Stoian, head of the Romanian Association for Rural, Ecologic and Cultural Tourism.

Snow on Postavarul peak in Poiana Brasov measures 62 centimeters and temperatures stood at 3 degrees Celsius Sunday at GMT 1200. In Predeal, the snow is 13 centimeters high and the temperature is of 4 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologists forecast the weather will be even warmer in the following days and temperatures are expected to vary between minus 5 degrees and 7 degrees Celsius on Monday.

Although tourists have already taken slopes by storm, the official skiing season doesn’t open until some time in December.
