Romania’s Jun Net Salary Up 2% M-M To RON1.273

Romania's net average salary was up 2% to 1.273 lei (EUR1-RON 3.5010) in real terms in June 2008, compared with May 2008, the National Institute for Statistics said Tuesday.

The net salary in June was up on the month as employees were given holiday or loyalty bonuses and a higher output was reported.

Brokers saw the biggest average net salaries of RON3.220, while employees in the wood processing industry, except for furniture making, were at the opposite pole with RON689.

June net average salary in agriculture was up 0.5% on the month to RON856.

The employees in the tobacco manufacturing industry saw a 3.7% salary drop on the month in June, at RON2.406.

Net salaries in the industrial field averaged RON1.184 in June, up 2.1% from May salary.

The average net salary in Romania rose 24.4% on year in June.
