The patient contracted the virus from another Romanian who came in from the U.K. last Sunday.

None of the 50 swine flu infections confirmed in Romania resulted in the patient’s death. In fact, only 13 patients remain hospitalized and their evolution is positive, the ministry said.

Worldwide, the current strain of H1N1 influenza A virus infected over 98,000 people in 137 states and regions, leaving over 440 people dead, according to the latest figures released by the World Health Organization (WHO).
