Tourist Arrivals In Romania Rise 14.1% M-M In Feb – INS
Romanian tourists accounted for 79.3% of the total, while foreign tourists represented 20.7% in February, similar with the same period a year before.
The number of foreign tourists that entered Romania in February was 3.8% lower compared with February 2010, INS release notes.
Most of foreign visitors, representing 95.5%, come from European countries, while 62.2% come from EU member states. Hungary accounts for the highest number of tourists who entered Romania, with 36.6%, followed by Bulgaria with 21.4%, Italy – 8.4%, Germany – 7.9% and Poland – 3.6%.
The number of Romanian tourists traveling abroad in January was down 3.9% on the year in February.
