Spain, Romania Join Forces To Help Romanian Workers
Basescu met in Valencia with Francisco Camps Ortiz, head of the government of the Valencia community.
Basescu said he discussed with Ortiz regarding the problem of Romanian citizens who work illegally in Valencia and the surrounding areas.
“We have decided that representatives of the Labor Ministry would come in Valencia to come up with a strategy to fight against black market labor. Thus, we intend to offer Romanians work places in the country (instead of illegally working in Spain) because Romania is currently confronting with a crisis on the labor market,” Basescu said.
The president said that Romania is no longer able to support its own development because it lacks work force.
Basescu argued that projects funded from European funds can no longer be developed due to the lack of work force on the Romanian market.
