Nagy was presented the resolution on the start of a criminal probe against him.

Nagy stressed that the transaction involving the plot of land of the postal company was legal, given the existence of a property deed, which proves that the postal company already owned the respective land.

On September 18, 2007, the chief prosecutor with the Anticorruption Department urged Romanian President Traian Basescu to request the start of a criminal probe against Zsolt Nagy, IT&C minister during December 2004- June 2007, and against former justice minister Tudor Chiuariu, for accessory to corruption acts, namely, abuse of office against public interests, as stipulated in art. 132 of Law 78/2000 with subsequent amendments, in file 240/P/2007.

Basescu agreed at the time with the start of a criminal probe against the two ministers.
