The four children have burns on 20% to 40% of the body, and two of them are breathing with the help of machines, hospital spokesperson Catalina Ionescu said Wednesday.
"Meanwhile, one of the children’s condition improved and can now breathe on their own. They remain in a critical condition, and doctors are reserved about their chances of recovery,” Ionescu said.
The next 48 hours are critical for the evolution of the children’s state, she added.
The other three children remain in the Piatra Neamt Emergency county hospital, with burns on 10% to 30% of the bodies. Doctors say their condition is stable.
The parents of the children and their aunt, aged 20, are also in the Piatra Neamt hospital.
Seven children, including their parents and their aunt, were injured in a blaze Tuesday evening, which occurred in the commune Girov, Neamt county. Four of them were taken Tuesday night to St Marie Hospital in Iasi county, in critical condition.
